Yea, come to think of it, we're on more of an even footing than i first thought. Everyone makes mistakes when the games are non-opening-book, even people like kondon. No matter how good you are, early moves are simply impossible to figure out without thinking for at least a few minutes. Imagine if you suddenly forgot all the opening moves. Though you have the skill of a grandmaster, you still would have to ponder each move for a fairly long time. The tournament is providing a similar situation, except we'll only have 30 seconds. The difference is, these moves can be memorized since they'll be announced beforehand. And that's bad for us, but the equalizing effect is still there.

One thing that will work to our advantage is, i think we are approaching this with a better work ethic than other teams. Teams like inet and blip are probably already confident (and i don't blame them), and probably won't practice as much as us. Humility and an underdog mentality are always beneficial.

not that i really care about winning this, to be honest lol. I'm just using it as motivation to remaster the game, which before i couldn't get myself to do because it's time-consuming and boring to play against yourself on vianiato. It's much easier to motivate yourself to practice when there's something to practice for.

And yea zidane is pretty good, he probably belongs in the top 5 of the toplist (at least of recent players). Not to be confused with zid4ne from kurnik, who is jerome # 4182 lol.

We had better improve our karma, or, better - pray for some blessing from Krishna. :D
And one more thing - paraphrasing Qui-Gonn-Jinn from Episode I:
...Overconfidence is a powerful ally...
This is 10% luck,
20% skill,
15% concentrated power of will,
5% pleasure,
50% pain,
and a 100% reason to remember the game!

Hi to everybody !

I'm one of the admins, organizing the tournament and just found your forum-topic on this event.

First my idea was to link it within our championship-forum but then have seen, that you're discussing
a lot of internal stuff.

Thatswhy questioning, if you may have any doubts to put this link into a special thread within
our forum -expecting to get also links to forums of other teams.

Would be kind to get some reply i.e. PM of one of your players to me at our forum - thnx.

Wishing good luck,
remaining faithfully :)

Tommorrow (22 december) I'm free of any work, so you may pick up a time for a practice. I suppose you'll read it in the middle of my night, so if you answer then, I will see it tommorrow morning and be ready for practice.
PS. Yesterday I've trained Angel. He's becoming better, but still needs expierience.

So now I'm waiting for your reply, Zugswang.

i don't know when i'll be free tomorrow. I have a lot of christmas shopping to do, plus it will be my first day back from school. If i'm free i'll check to see if you're online.

I just gave angel vianiato last night, now he'll probably be improving very fast.

and i'll send you vianiato sometime tonight, gtg somewhere right now

Thx for vianiato, it's really good, but slow.

gets faster the more you use it. Once it solves a certain position, it remembers that position in the future and will have the answer instantly the next time it sees that position.
